The types of the powder extinguishers 

Powders compounds can be used for extinguishing the type A, B and, C fires. These powder compounds are called chemical powder, these kinds of the powders are different from dry powder.

Chemical powder is used for extinguishing the type A fires. But these powders have insufficient cooling effects. They remain on the goods and equipment. So, for these reason and economic reason it is not recommended to use. This kind of extinguishers are used when the water is scarcity.  If the fire has penetrated deep into the burned material chemical powder is not so effective. The compounds which are called aerosol DSPA also are of this type of extinguisher.

The function of the powder extinguishers

Chemical powders are sprinkled on the fire. It covers the fire. It prevents the fire from contacting with oxygen. Chemical powders act as extinguisher and it extinguishes the fire superficially so, such powders are not suggested to deep fires which have high temperatures. The powders are not stable at temperatures more than 60 degree centigrade. It is possible that powders stick to the capsule compartment.
